A Non-profit Health-focused Relief and Development Organization Supports Its Efforts with a Restored Digital Experience
Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that responds to people affected by poverty or disaster with life-changing health programs, medicine and medical supplies. Each year, Americares reaches more than 90 countries and all 50 U.S. states with over $600 million in innovative health programs and quality medical aid. Americares is the world’s leading nonprofit provider of donated medicine and medical supplies.
Americares came to Verndale with the desire to build a new digital environment in the midst of a rebrand as a part of its larger holistic strategy. As Americares was rebuilding the brand from the ground up, the team wanted to reinvent their website to ensure the new look and feel of the brand and the interactivity and engagement already being emulated by the organization was supported by its digital experience. This project was to be completed within an extremely short window, in order to keep up with the pace of the rapidly changing brand.
Verndale worked in tandem with the Americares team and their design agency, Harley & Company, to effectively tell the Americares story digitally against an aggressive timeline. Our team built and developed a site utilizing Episerver Digital Experience Cloud™ to amplify branding initiatives and deliver a clean user experience to site visitors, all within 12 weeks. With the build and development, we also constructed timeline and cadence for all teams, delivered high level strategic support as well as provided content author training to ensure the Americares team was up to speed. Verndale also built a template for a Map Box integration as a way to connect and involve users with the territories Americares services.
This complex project consisted of robust designs requiring impeccable front end skill, in addition to compressed timelines, which was successfully completed and delivered to Americares. The revamped site now acts as an effective hub for the organization to tell its brand story through engaging and interactive images and touch points. Various modules were built into the site to universally deliver online support and immediate communication related to disasters worldwide. The experience that Americares is now able to share will enable education surrounding the work the organization participates in and will increase involvement and engagement with site visitors.
